Brody grew up on his family’s farm near Cherokee, and will be graduating this year from Cherokee Washington High School. He has been deeply involved in livestock production, crop farming, and daily agricultural operations. In addition to his hands-on experience, he has demonstrated strong initiative by launching his own business, Cowan Livestock Equipment, specializing in custom livestock solutions and welding.

This fall, Brody will attend Iowa Central Community College to study Agricultural Studies while competing on the rodeo team. His future goals include returning to his family farm, expanding his livestock equipment business, and integrating new technologies to improve agricultural practices.

Brody’s passion for agriculture is deeply rooted in family. He mentions that working alongside his father from a young age has shaped his strong work ethic and inspired his commitment to carry on the family legacy. Brody says, "Responsibility, Integrity, and Dedication" are key core values that guide both his personal and professional goals to make the family farm the best it can be. 

Looking ahead, Brody is driven to not only sustain his family’s operation but also to help move agriculture forward. He is committed to embracing innovation, adopting new ideas, and being part of the next generation of farmers who will strengthen and grow the industry for years to come.
